## Context

A California Community Colleges Economic & Workforce Development initiative needed to help the state's small businesses adopt social media and internet tools.

## Engagement

We won the proposal to write the curriculum and build the support website, then helped steer the program through two pilot two-day workshops, a legislative-staff event in Sacramento (iima4gov, September 2011), and finally a filmed online workshop.

## What we delivered

- The Web4Biz.org site integrating video segments, archives, discussion boards, and a SWOT-based homework module that produces a social-media strategic plan.
- Direction of the studio shoot at Los Angeles Valley College.
- Marketing collateral, a press kit, and the April 2012 news release.
- The five-course "Interactive Internet for Business" certificate content and faculty resources, and curriculum revisions for faculty adoption at Cuesta and Ventura Colleges.

## Outcome

The iima4gov event drew 30 legislative staff in person and more than 200 online views within two weeks. The online workshop was released free statewide in 2012 and adopted by college instructors.
