## Context

Rancho Santiago Community College District administers the statewide ICT–Digital Media Sector Navigator grant for the California Community Colleges, coordinating the regional Deputy Sector Navigators.

## Engagement

Beginning in October 2013 we were retained to design, host, and support the sector's web presence (ict-dm.net) to the Doing What Matters style guide. In 2014–15 the work expanded to an online application for "branded pathways": learning-path listings, course availability at each college, student progress profiles, a printable digital resume, and an Open Badges API.

## What we delivered

- Managed hosting with firewall, CDN, backups, and monthly content support.
- Newsletter and eBlast tooling, video production for sector messaging, and conference support.
- The Curriculum Pathways application, first deployed for the Business Information Worker (BIW) pathway, with college self-service sign-up, brochures, flyers, FAQ, and a resume generator.

## Outcome

The sector's February 2015 letter reported the BIW pathway live at 8 of 9 San Diego-region colleges and nearing 15% of colleges statewide, and that a Manpower job fair at the originating college hired more than 104 students who met the BIW criteria, "compared to normal job fairs where 2 or 3 students are hired." The 2015–16 proposal recorded that "the functionality of this web application was developed and proven" and funded its expansion to additional pathways.
