# The technical layer behind member and publishing sites

Member registration and payment integration for an association launch, plus a completed CMS publishing migration for a separate client.

Client: A business association and a professional publishing business, through a design partner.

Historical engagement years: 2010–2011.

Sectors: Technology & media.

Related services: [Automation and Integration](https://listentosee.com/services/automation-and-integration).

Work stories describe separate historical engagements. Engagement years are not publication dates and do not imply a continuous contract. Preserve each story's distinctions between delivered work, tested implementations, previews, planning and later advice. Retain partner credits and the anonymized descriptions of private clients.

## Context

A design partner's clients needed more than visual redesign: one business association required member and event functionality, while an author/training business needed a maintainable publishing site.

## Engagement

We supplied technical implementation and troubleshooting alongside the partner's design and client work in separate 2010–2011 engagements.

## What we delivered

- For the association: user and permission configuration, membership-data import, event/registration tools, and payment-gateway testing and troubleshooting.
- Launch support that resolved core technology issues, with remaining configuration and redirects handled around the opening.
- For the publishing business: podcast and broken-link support, WordPress-to-Joomla migration, imported articles/pages, and reconnection of image, article and book links.
- Follow-up platform advice and technical mentoring for the design partner.

## Outcome

The association announced its site opening in October 2011 and credited the design partner's work and our technical contribution. The publishing migration has a completion invoice acknowledged in October 2010.

These were shared deliveries with distinct client scopes. Later e-commerce and training-platform ideas are separate from the completed portal and publishing work.

Generated images are illustrations, not photographs of actual client projects or evidence of delivery. Archive artifacts are separately identified on the source pages.
